Mom's Birthday Toast
Welcome to All...
|
Thank you
for celebrating our amazing Mom's 90th
birthday.
Whether you know her as Mom, Aunt, Grandma, LaLa,
Friend, Sylvia, Connie, or Tzippala, you know her as
a beautiful,
energetic, fun, loving, inspirational, creative,
stylish, woman for whom life has only one
purpose...to be fully enjoyed...truly savored.
Everyone here has her own stories and memories which
we hope you will share with us today...whether it is
of mom salsa dancing till 4:00 am in Costa Rica,
saying
bon voyage to a friend on a cruise ship and then
setting sail with her, climbing mountains at a spa
in Vermont or in Big Sur, CA, snorkeling in the
Caribbean,
exploring China in her red refrigerator coat in the
early 1970s, driving all across the country at 20
years old to follow our dad at the different air
force bases where he was stationed, and befriending
people all over the world and nurturing those
friendships
forever...this is the woman who raised us with the
mantra, "if you don't have something nice to say
about someone, don't say anything".

There are few things she won't try; there is no party
she won't attend, no outfit she won't
accessorize, no hat she won't embellish and then
model with great flare, no costume
she won't wear, no beach she won't walk, no country
she won't explore, no dance she
won't do.
This and so much more attests to her vibrant embrace
of life. She inspires each of us in her own way. At
any and every age I hope I can embrace the fun in
life the way mom does.
You each have an important place in Mom's heart and
life. There is a story...recent or
from decades earlier that connects you with
her and she remembers every detail believe me!
The person here who mom's known the longest is
Mildred Nochimson...who mom
met when we moved to Wayne in 1951. Mildred please
share one of your wonderful stories...
