More than 60 theatre lovers seeking back stage
stories and producing tips attended the January 11
session of CULTURE
& COCKTAILS at Cafe Boulud. The
topic was:
NO BIZ LIKE SHOW BIZ!
A Conversation with Big Time Producers
Vicki Halmos, producer
of numerous Broadway & Off-Broadway shows
and founder of the Palm Beach Principal
Players, swapped humorous anecdotes and wry
advice with Rodger
Hess, producer
of numerous Broadway shows including
the Tony Award-winning revivals of Macbeth and 1776.
The two veteran producers were interviewed
by Andrew Kato, Artistic
Director of the Maltz
Jupiter Theatre.
The next CULTURE & COCKTAILS event will be held at
the Beach Club of the Boca Raton Resort & Club on
Monday, February 1, and the topic will be:

A Conversation about the Booming Art Scene
in Boca & Delray

All CULTURE
& COCKTAILS events
are free for members of the Cultural Council
($175 level and above). The price for everyone
else is $35 per person with all proceeds going
to the nonprofit Palm Beach County Cultural
Council.
While CULTURE & COCKTAILS events are usually
held at the Award-winning Cafe Boulud in
Palm Beach, this is the first time that the
popular series will be held in South County.
It will be held at the Beach
Club of the Boca Raton Resort & Club,
501 East Camino Real.
Each CULTURE & COCKTAILS event runs from 5 to 7
p.m., with registration and cocktails from 5 to
5:45 p.m., and the “Conversation” from 5:45 to 7
p.m., including audience Q&A.
Because of space limitations, each CULTURE
& COCKTAILS event
is limited to 60 RSVPs on a first-come basis.

For more than 30 years, the Palm
Beach County Cultural Council has
taken a leadership role in nurturing, promoting
and celebrating the arts and cultural community
in one of Florida's largest and most diverse
counties. The nonprofit organization is
officially recognized by the Board of County
Commissioners as the county's advisory agency
for cultural development and administers a
portion of local tourist development funds under
contract with county government. Since
inception, the Cultural Council has committed
its energies and resources to supporting the
establishment of new cultural institutions,
