On Thursday night the
city’s glamorous crowd gathered under the gold-lit
chandeliers of The Harmonie Club as Disney
star–turned–billionaire philanthropist Brock Pierce
hosted his sold-out
Angel’s Helpers Gala — an unforgettable evening that
raised over $500,000 for children’s arts and education
programs in Harlem.
The black-tie affair featured a special performance by
Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, who brought the house down
with an impromptu rendition of “Gone Till November,” joined
by the mayor himself,
Eric Adams, who came to support his brother, one of the
gala’s founders
a retired NYPD officer.
Guests included a powerhouse mix of entertainment,
philanthropy, and NYC elite: Jonah Loop, Inson Wood, Dex
Lauper, Larry Gershman, King Zoe, and Max Roever,
who was surprised with a birthday cake on stage as the crowd
cheered.
James C. Horton, President and CEO of the Harlem
School of the Arts, took the podium to thank Angel’s
Helpers for supporting his organization, highlighting
the incredible achievements of Harlem students from
elementary through high school. “Every dollar raised tonight
directly fuels dreams — from paintbrushes to piano keys,”
Horton told the packed ballroom, before inviting guests to
visit the school to see their donations
at work.
Between the champagne toasts and Wyclef’s
performance, guests agreed: Pierce made magic happen,
blending star power, purpose, and old New York glamour in
one dazzling night.
