CHINA ARTS FOUNDATION Welcomes the SHANGHAI SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA The Great Lawn, Central Park, NYC
The China Arts Foundation hosted a private section at a performance in Central Park last night. Over 33,000 music lovers turned out to hear The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Yu Long and internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Andrey Boreyko. Angela Chen, director of the China Arts Foundation, arranged a small informal reception before the concert, and seating during the concert for guests that included Geoffrey Bradfield, Ron Chernow, Theodore Forstmann, Hank Greenberg, William Haseltine, Padma Lakshmi, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rubin and designer Zang Toi. The two hour concert was followed by fireworks that lit up the New York Skyline. The performance celebrated The World Expo 2010 Shanghai and the partnership of the two cities. The China Arts Foundation (CAF) is a non-profit organization supports art performances and cultural events that involves Sino-international relations and exchanges
