Barbara Tober hosted the Millbrook Music
Salon at her Yellowframe Farm on
September 19 for a private piano chamber
concert. “You know, music is everywhere,
and thank God it’s here today,” said
Tober, who introduced pianists Llewellyn
Sánchez-Werner, whom she has known and
supported for years, and Sophia Shuhui
Zhou, Artistic Director of
Millbrook Music Salon.
The event announced the Millbrook Music
Salon’s first Manhattan benefit October
7th, featuring principals of the
Berliner Philharmoniker and soprano Alma
Sadé. “We bring world-class music to our
community at large, not just the chosen
few that are here,” said Chairman and
co-founder Stephen Kaye, “we want
everyone to be able to participate and
learn about what a great thing it is to
have music of this quality.” A few

“My mission is to bring world-class
music and talents, like Llewellyn, to
our community and share music with all
of us,” said Zhou. “Since our founding
in 2025, we have already hosted about
twenty concerts around Millbrook. We
also hosted five educational workshops
with public schools, as well as the
Millbrook library.” Sánchez-Werner and
Zhou performed a program spanning
Beethoven’s Sonata in D Major for Piano
Four Hands, Op. 6, William Grant Still’s
“Summerland,” Debussy’s La plus que
lente, Haydn’s Allegro from Sonata in C
Major, Hob. XVI/50, Schumann’s Widmung
in a Liszt arrangement, Duke Ellington’s
“Come Sunday,” Charles Ives’s “The
Alcotts,” Louis Moreau Gottschalk’s The
Banjo, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue
arranged for piano four hands.
Millbrook Music Salon positions the

world-class chamber music by presenting
leading international artists in
