On
June 8, the East End Chapter/Jeanne Kaye
League Award Luncheon raised more than
$400,000, an eye-popping amount of money
at their annual luncheon gala’s event
held at The Plaza Hotel. Led by Lisa
Fuld, her sister Kathy Kaye and
supported by a Board made up of some of
New York and Hamptons’ most influential
women, the day was highlighted by
moving, personal speeches, a silent
raffle and a boisterous auction led by
well-known NYC auctioneer Lisa Rezak.
Two cancer survivors, Lisa Friedman
Clark, entrepreneur and Jennifer
Santiago, CEO ArtRepublic Global, were
awarded the Spirit of Life® Award, and
championed early detection and the
physicians of City of Hope in their
speeches to the crowd of 200.
One of the luncheon’s highlights each
year is its raffle and this year, the
gifts did not disappoint. The most
popular gifts were a round of golf with
five-time World Series champion former
Major League Baseball player Paul
O’Neill (New York Yankees and Cincinnati
Reds right fielder); dinner for 2 at
Rao’s; the use of a Cadillac luxury
vehicle for a month; a complete set of
veneers by one of Manhattan’s high
profile cosmetic dentists; and a
facelift from a top NYC plastic
surgeon. Transportation for the
Honorees was provided by Broadway
Elite Limousine.
Past recipients of this prestigious
award from City of Hope include Jane
Fonda, Dr. Jill Biden, Brooke Shields,
Kristin Chenoweth, Katie Couric, Cindy
Crawford, Fran Drescher, Jane Krakowski,
Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford, Sandra
Lee, Joan Lunden, Dr. Ellen Marmur, Mary
Tyler Moore, Amy Robach, Kelly Ripa,
Rosanna Scotto, Robin Roberts, Essie
Weingarten, and Paula Zahn.

Kaye League comprises 500 New York women
who represent all facets of the city's
business, philanthropic and cultural
communities. The volunteer and
fundraising chapter has been raising
money to accelerate cures and novel
therapies at City of Hope for more than
40 years. In that time, the chapter
raised more than $14 million in support
of new medical innovations for cancer
patients and their families.
