Jean Shafiroff Hosts
Bastille Day Luncheon
at Maison Barnes in New York City
Philanthropist, TV host, and author, Jean
Shafiroff hosted her Annual
Bastille Day Luncheon at the elegant
Maison Barnes Restaurant in New York
City. Approximately 60 guests
attended, including celebrities,
fashion designers, society and media
notables. A special gourmet luncheon
prepared by the Daniel Boulud kitchen
was served in celebration of the French
National Holiday.
Notable attendees at the elegant
luncheon included: Jean
Shafiroff, Prince
Dimitri of Yugoslavia, Barbara Tober,
Julia Haart, NYS Assemblywoman Rebecca
Seawright, Ava Roosevelt, Ramona Singer,
Bill McCuddy, Valerie Steele, Ruth
LaFerla, Lee Fryd, Camellia
Entekhabifard, Marilyn Kirschner, and fashion
designers Nicole Miller, Malan
Breton, Victor dE Souza, Vanessa Noel,
Joyce Brooks, Nabys Vielman, and Kokin. Others
included Maribel
Lieberman, Alex Hamer, Nicole Salmasi,
David Hochberg, Maria Fishel, Matt Rich,
Ann Van Ness, Roy Kean and Susan
Gutfreund.
Making a fashion
statement at the luncheon, Jean
Shafiroff wore a specialty floral
applique white and black dress and
jacket by Alice and Olivia and then a
fuschia lace flare dress by Dolce &
Gabbana. She paired the Dolce & Gabbana
dress with fashion crucifixes. Jean is a
fashion lover and collector of couture
and ready to wear fashion. Jean
Shafiroff is a patron of the
fashion industry and has served on the
board of Couture Council of the Museum
at the Fashion Institute of Technology
(FIT) since 2010.
The French national holiday, Bastille
Day, commemorates the storming of the
Bastille prison, marking the beginning
of the French Revolution, which took
place on July 14th, 1789 .The
event symbolized the end of the French
monarchy's absolute power and the
beginning of a new era of freedom and
equality.
Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff has served
as a board member of the French Heritage
Society since 2012. A strong supporter
of the nonprofit organization, Jean is
dedicated to the preservation,
restoration and promotion of French
heritage in America and France. In
November of 2022, the French Heritage
Society honored Jean for her
philanthropic leadership and work at
their New York City Gala.
About Jean Shafiroff:
Jean Shafiroff is a
philanthropist, humanitarian, TV host,
writer, and the author of the book "Successful
Philanthropy: How to Make a Life By What
You Give". Jean works extensively as
a volunteer fundraiser and leader in the
philanthropic world. She serves on the
boards of 8 charitable organizations and
each year chairs upwards of eight to ten
different charity galas. She also
hosts and underwrites many large
parties in her homes for
different non-profits. Among the many
causes she champions are those involved
in women’s rights, rights of
underserved populations, health care,

hosting her own TV show, entitled
Successful Philanthropy, Jean Shafiroff

leader who strives to motivate people of
all ages and backgrounds to get involved
in the philanthropic process.
Jean Shafiroff serves on
the boards of the French Heritage
Society, Southampton Hospital
Foundation, NYC Mission Society,
Couture Council of the Museum at FIT,
New York Women's Foundation, Casita
Maria, Global Strays, and Southampton
Animal Shelter Foundation Honorary
Board. In addition, she is a member of
the Advisory Board of the Historical
Society of Palm Beach County. A
Catholic, Jean served on the board of
the Jewish Board for 28 years and now is
one of their honorary trustees. Jean
Shafiroff has been honored numerous
times by a variety of charitable
organizations for her work and is
regarded Jean as being among the leading
ladies of philanthropy.
