For 25 years, the Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, a 501(c)(3)
doing business as A Safe Haven for Newborns, has worked
tirelessly to save newborns from the ultimate abuse,
abandonment, while assisting pregnant girls and women in
their time of need or crisis.
One of our key achievements in this lifesaving mission is
our longstanding partnership with hospitals and Fire and EMS
professionals. Recognizing their pivotal role in
safeguarding the lives of vulnerable newborns, hospitals and
staffed Fire and EMS stations are designated Safe Haven
facilities, with our signage prominently displayed outside
each participating location.
The urgency of our cause cannot be overstated. Pregnant
girls and women who are frightened, overwhelmed, or without
the support and resources they need may feel they have
nowhere to turn. In the most desperate circumstances, some
may resort to abandoning their newborns, often leading to
tragic outcomes.
Through our comprehensive approach of educational campaigns,
direct assistance, and the constant availability of our 24/7
multilingual and confidential helpline, we have successfully
secured a future and a lifetime of love with their forever
families for 445 precious newborns. This includes 434
newborns saved in Florida, 10 in other states and 1 in the
country of Honduras.
We have also assisted more than 6,000 pregnant girls and
women in their time of need or crisis, facilitated direct
adoptions for 74 mothers, and helped 6 parents successfully
regain their parental rights. Our unwavering commitment
continues to touch the lives of newborns, women, and
families when they need compassion and support the most.
Each year, we come together at our annual gala to celebrate
the lives of these innocent and precious newborns. This
year’s 14th Annual A Wonderland in Safe Haven Gala will be
especially meaningful as we celebrate 25 years of saving the
lives of the most innocent and helpless among us, newborns.
Our celebration will take place at the InterContinental
Miami on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Once
again, we are honored to welcome Lauren Pastrana of CBS4
News as our Mistress of Ceremonies.
One of the highlights of the evening will be witnessing the
real-life impact of Safe Haven through the moving
testimonies of children who were safely surrendered by
mothers who courageously wanted them to have a future they
felt they could not provide. Their stories are powerful
reminders that every newborn deserves a chance for a safe,
loving, and hopeful future.
We deeply thank all our gala sponsors, guests, donors, and
supporters who joined us last year for their generosity and
continued commitment to our mission.
What could be more important than saving the life of a
precious, innocent newborn?
It is my sincere hope that we can count on your support
again this year for this lifesaving mission. You can help by
becoming a sponsor, purchasing gala tickets, donating an
auction item, making a contribution of any amount, or

Nick E. Silverio
