Sicilian Film Festival annuncia la seconda edizione di

F.I.M.O. Festival Internazionale di Musica d'Organo nelle Chiese dello Storico Principato di Castelbuono

COMUNICATO STAMPA F.I.M.O. Dopo una fortunata e seguitissima prima edizione l'anno scorso, venerdì 4 settembre 2009 alle ore 17,30 inaugura al Museo Mandralisca di Cefalù (Palermo) il II F.I.M.O. Festival Internazionale di Musica d'Organo nelle Chiese delle Storico Principato di Castelbuono, la nuova creazione del Sicilian Film Festival e della Emanuele Viscuso Communications. Il Museo Mandralisca, luogo d'eccezione su cui e' caduta la scelta per l'apertura di quest'anno, ospiterà un evento anch'esso d'eccezione: un concerto di musica barocca italiana e francese dell'Ensemble "Le Masque" di Strasburgo, per la prima volta in Sicilia, preceduto da un cocktail d'apertura e da una conferenza stampa. La serata inaugurale non finirà li ma proseguirà alle ore 21,00 al Museo "Fra Giammaria di Tusa" a Gibilmanna , con un concerto di Diego Cannizzaro. Altrii concerti seguiranno nei giorni successivi a Castelbuono, Petralia Soprana e Petralia Sottama. Le date del festival sono state scelte in coincidenza con gli eventi religiosi dell'8 e del 14 settembre e le solenni processioni che li accompagnano. La città di Castelbuono fu la coltissima capitale, durante il Rinascimento, di uno storico principato che riguardava tutte le Madonie.

Il presidente e fondatore del festival Emanuele Viscuso, ha nominato direttore artistico del F.I.M.O. Diego Cannizzaro, uno dei più grandi esperti del mondo di organi antichi e già direttore del Centro Studi Auditorium Pacis. Il festival ha richiesto vari anni di preparazione. Ill programma, malgrado gli eventi siano tutti gratuiti, e' ricco e vario.

La Sicilia ha circa 1500 organi antichi nelle sue chiese. Pressappoco quanti ce ne sono in tutta la Francia e la Germania messe assieme. Gli organi storici di Castelbuono e delle Madonie sono tra i più antichi ed interessanti d'Italia e d'Europa. Nella Chiesa di San Francesco in Castelbuono c'è uno splendido esemplare costruito nel 1547. Si tratta del terzo organo in Italia e del quinto in Europa quanto ad anzianità. Castelbuono e le Madonie hanno una prestigiosa tradizione musicale per molti anni poco conosciuta fino all'invenzione di questo festival dove convergeranno annualmente i massimi studiosi di arte organaria ma ci sarà spazio anche per tanti giovani artisti che hanno intrapreso da poco l'affascinante viaggio dello studio musicale.

Come presidente del F.I.M.O. ed allo stesso tempo del Sicilian Film Festival di Miami, lo scopo di Viscuso è quello di creare un flusso energetico basato sulla cultura e capace di divenire una straordinaria e reciproca opportunità di comunicazione ed amicizia internazionale tra la Sicilia e la Florida, anzi tra l'Italia e l'America e il mondo intero. Durante il festival il Principato di Castelbuono tornerà ad essere il centro di cultura unico al mondo che era stato nel suo storico passato rinascimentale.

Sicilian Film Festival announces the 2^nd annual event of

F.I.M.O. International Organ Music Festival in the Churches of the Historical Princedom of Castelbuono

F.I.M.O. PRESS RELEASE After the wonderful first annual event last year, F.I.M.O. International Festival of Organ Music in the Churches of the Historical Princedom of Castelbuono, the last creation of Sicilian Film Festival and Emanuele Viscuso Communications, is going to open on Friday September 4^th, 2009 at 5,30 in the Museum Mandralisca in Cefalù (Palermo), Italy. Such an incredible location, chosen for the opening of this year, will host an outstanding event: a concert of the Italian and French Baroc music by the Ensemble "Le Masque" of Strasbourg, showing for the first time in Sicily. The concert will follow a press conference and a cocktail party. The opening event will continue the same evening at 9pm in the Museum "Fra Giammaria di Tusa" in Gibilmanna with a concert of Diego Cannizzaro. Other cities, like Castelbuono, Petralia Soprana and Petralia Sottana will host events in the following days. The dates of the festival have n=been chosen according to the religious festivities of September 8^th and 14^th and their solemn processions. Castelbuono is a wonderful city in Sicily and was the capital of a princedom covering all the Madonie Mountains during the Renaissance.

President and creator of F.I.M.O.,Emanuele Viscuso, has nominated artistic director of F.I.M.O. Diego Cannizzaro, director of the Center Studies Auditorium Pacis in Castelbuono, one of the most important experts of ancient organs in the world. The festival has taken several years of preparation. All the events are free of charge. Nevertheless, the program will be rich and various.

Sicily has approximately 1500 ancient organs in its churches: more or less the equivalent as that in France and Germany combined. The historical organs of Castelbuono and Madonie are among the most ancient and interesting of Italy and Europe. In the church of St. Francesco in Castelbuono there is a splendid example, built in 1547. It is the third oldest organ in Italy and the fifth in Europe. Castelbuono and the Madonie have a prestigious musical tradition, which for many years remained unrevealed till the creation of this new festival where the top world researchers of organ will converge together every year with many young people and artists that have undertaken the fascinating trip of musical studies.

As president of F.I.M.O. and at the same time of Sicilian Film Festival in Miami, Emanuele Viscuso's goal is to create an energetic flow based on the culture and an extraordinary and reciprocal opportunity for communication and international friendship between Sicily and Florida and, more, between Italy and America and the whole world. During the festival the Princedom of Castelbuono will become again what if was in the past: an ancient renaissance princedom and a cultural center unique in the world.
