American Heart Association's 44th Annual Gala & Auction Rhythm of the Night Gala Raises $555,000
Long Island, NY, May 4, 2007. It was a spectacular evening for the American Heart Association's 44th Annual Gala & Auction. On Friday, May 4th more than 470 people from the medical and corporate community arrived at the Garden City Hotel to participate in the evening which raised more the $555,000. The Heart Gala and Auction is an annual event held to recognize outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the area of cardiovascular science leadership. The focus of the 44th Annual Gala & Auction is Children's Heart Health. Learn and Live is a rally cry for our children. The American Heart Association is committed to helping our children live stronger, healthier lives through education, research and public policies that effect where they live, work and play. Founded in 1924, the American Heart Association today is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. These diseases, America's No. 1 and No. 3 killers, and all other cardiovascular diseases claim over 870,000 lives a year. In fiscal year 2005-06 the association invested over $543 million in research, professional and public education, advocacy and community service programs to help all Americans live longer, healthier lives.
