76th President of
the United Nations General Assembly.
H.E. Mr. Abdullah Shahid ,
hosted a town hall meeting
for members of Civil society - ( CSOs) ;
which was jointly organized by
the President of The General Assembly
and the Civil Society Unit and the United Nations Department of Global
Communications .
The said meeting was the first in-person meeting with
the President of the General Assembly with Civil Society
since the COVID-19 global pandemic .
The President of the General Assembly ,
who is from The Maldives outlined his vision for his
Presidency Of Hope ,
Delivering For People ,
For The Planet And For Prosperity ,
the five Rays of Hope
which are :
Recovery from the Coronavirus disease ( C0VID-19 ) ;
Rebuilding Sustainably ;
Responding to the needs of Planet ;
Respecting the rights of all
and
Revitalizing the United
Nations .

it is my ethos to preserve -to both hope
and work for a better tomorrow .
Hope lets us stand up, dust ourselves off and ,
once again ,
work on rebuilding this world.
This is what can bring us together .”
