CORO NEW YORK LEADERSHIP CENTER CELEBRATES
THIRTY YEARS OF VISIONARY LEADERS AT ANNUAL GALA
WHAT:
Four hundred New Yorkers will gather as Coro New
York Leadership Center, the City’s premier leadership
training program, hosts
its annual fundraising gala on Wednesday,
April 22, 2015 in
Manhattan’s Gotham Hall. This year’s Coro Awards Gala, “30
Years of Visionary Leaders,” is expected to raise $700,000
to support Coro’s leadership training
programs, providing
the city’s top talent with skills, knowledge, and a network
to influence meaningful change.
The event honors outstanding leaders with the
vision and drive to create purposeful change in their
communities. This year’s honorees include John
H. Alschuler, Chairman,
HR&A Advisors, Inc. and Suri
Kasirer, President, Kasirer Consulting LLC. Donald
Gips, Senior
Counselor, Albright Stonebridge Group, Former
US Ambassador to South Africa, will receive the Alumni
Impact Award. Gips is a member of the first class of Fellows
in New York City 30 years ago. The
Alumni Award for Public Service will honor New York City
Council Member Ritchie
Torres, a 2004 graduate of Coro’s youth program
Exploring Leadership.
The event will feature a cocktail reception and seated
awards presentation. Past honorees include Bill Bratton,
Diana Taylor, Jonathan Tisch, The Honorable Robert M.
Morgenthau, Danny Meyer, Marcy Syms, Wynton Marsalis, and
Gael Greene.
Coro is a community of 2,100 alumni across business,
government, schools and non-profits with the belief that a
single person, with sufficient drive and passion, is what
will make New York a better place for all who live and work
here.
