The World Harmony Foundation (WHF) and The National
Association of State Latino Chambers of Commerce ( NASLCC)
help Mexico and Colombia in their fight against Covid-19.
Within 2 days of the New Year, members of the WHF’s
secretariat in Beijing, Pei Ying and Sha Sha, diligently
delivered a batch of 100,000 masks to the Embassy of Mexico
in Beijing as one of the donations that the WHF, the NASLCC
& other Chinese companies made. This union of the different
organizations was done in order to counter fight the effects
of the pandemic (Covid-19) in the Latin American countries.
As the pandemic spreads, Mexico and Colombia have become
some of the most affected countries geographically located
below the USA.
The first batch of the 100,000 masks was donated by the
Rock- Orient Foundation, who”s chairman is Steven
Rockefeller, a member of the renowned philanthropist
Rockefeller family. The Rock-Orient foundation in a combined
effort with Frank Luis (chairman of WHF headquarters),
Jeanmarine Nicole Edwards (CEO WHF), and Frank Garcia
(vice-chairman of the Latin-American and Caribbean WHF and
chair to NASLCC), who actively through NASLCC’s Women
President Task Force chair Abby Razo, in cooperation and
logistic with many Organizations in Colombia and Colombia
leaders in the US associated with NASLCC, have been working
diligently to deliver the masks donated. The Organizations
and leaders that step out to collaborate are: Elkin Florez
of the Colombia National Rice Association (Project Director
FEDEARROZ) Sandra Cano State Senator Rhode island of
Colombia foundation LECORP FLC NIT, representing the
Colombian Community in NY victims
organization “Adelante Colombia” Chair Luz Giraldo- Duque,
Fundepaz Priest Fernando Echeverri, and many others
On Friday, January 8th, 2021 the second batch of 100,000
masks that were previously donated to the Government of
Colombia departed from the JFK International Airport via
AVIANCA airlines at 12:30 pm EST. The Vice president of
Colombia, Martha Lucia Ramirez expressed her appreciation
since the donation acceptance and has been working in
coordination with NASLCC Women President Task Force and
AVIANCA Airlines in all logistics to secure the masks
donation for the Colombian people.
In her letter of appreciation, she mentions the donation of
these masks will play a positive role in the fight against
the pandemic in the Colombian community especially to the
most vulnerable communities of women and children.
The WHF’s charity team, The NASLCC, and The NASLCC’s Women
President Task Force are determined to continue working hard
to donate more masks to Mexico and aid other countries in
South America and Africa.
